timthumbFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q – Is Yachts Miami Beach the same as the Miami International Boat show?

A – No. Two different boat shows take place annually in Miami and Miami Beach during the second weekend in February. Yachts Miami Beach, formerly known as the Yacht & Brokerage Show, takes place along Collins Avenue from 41st to 54th Streets in Miami Beach. Show Management produces the show and co-owns it with the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA). This show, now in its 28th year, is completely independent of the Miami International Boat Show, which is owned and produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Q – Why are there two boats shows on the same weekend?

A – In the 1980s, Show Management and FYBA created the Yacht & Brokerage Show because the Miami International Boat Show did not allow brokerage, or previously owned boats, in its show. Today, Yachts Miami Beach includes both new and brokerage boats in sizes ranging up to more than 400 feet.

YachtMIA-Map 2016Q – Does Yachts Miami Beach have more than one location?

A – In 2016, Show Management is introducing a second Yachts Miami Beach location at Island Gardens Deep Harbour Marina, located on the southwest end of Watson Island off the MacArthur Causeway. When finished, the new marina will be able to accommodate 35 to 75 yachts from 80 to 550 feet, the largest collection of slips for yachts of this size in the United States. This is in addition to the existing Yachts Miami Beach location on Collins Avenue, which will not change.

Q– Will there be free transportation between the primary Yachts Miami Beach site on Collins Avenue, the secondary Yachts Miami Beach site on Watson Island, and the Miami International Boat Show site on Virginia Key?

A – Show Management will provide free shuttle service between Yachts Miami Beach on Collins Avenue and the show’s second location on Watson Island. Additionally, Show Management is in conversations with the NMMA to connect the two independent boat shows, which historically shared a bus route between Collins Avenue and the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the Miami International Boat Show used to take place. Check ShowManagement.com for updates.

Q – Where can I park?

A – Yachts Miami Beach offers many parking choices, all of which are connected by a convenient, fast and reliable motor coach system. Motor coaches transport attendees from the show’s many designated parking locations to drop-off and pick-up locations at the center, north and south ends of the show along Collins Avenue, as well as to and from the Island Gardens show site. Signage helps direct people to the parking and free shuttle bus locations. Valet parking is available on the east side of Collins Avenue in front of the city parking lot at the 4600 block.

Q – Are there other things to see and do at Yachts Miami Beach in addition to seeing the yachts on display?

A – In addition to the remarkable display of more than 500 new and brokerage yachts, the free show features a wide array of the latest marine technology, accessories and products. Its popular floating cocktail lounges are lively gathering places for attendees to enjoy food and musical entertainment. The area surrounding the show boasts some of the hottest hotels and restaurants in Miami Beach
